One of the ways to increase production for aquaculture is through cultivation monosexuals by ensuring genital reversal from which energy reproduction diverted towards growth. Masculinization has been identified as one most prominent techniques, where sex development was directed female male. This approach only altered phenotype and not genotype. The red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) a relatively new commercial commodity, males were known grow faster than females. Hence, it proposed use monocultures comprising an all-male population yield using steroid hormone, synthetic 17α-methyltestosterone. However, this technique generated residues that detrimentally affect human health, environment, cultivated organisms. Therefore, finding safe natural sources essential, exploring hormones extracted viscera sea cucumbers (Holothuria scabra Jaeger). study focused on determination male formation testosterone levels among juvenile crayfish, after immersing in cucumber extract (SCSE). A completely random design with factorial used two variables, encompassing varied doses (0, 2, 4 mg/L, 2 mg/L 17α-methyl control group) immersion times 18 30 h. result showed dose-dependent ability SCSE promote level crayfish. In addition, influenced dose duration time, highest observed treatments h 0.248 ng/mL, while percentage 77%. conclusion, combination time significantly affected growth levels.
